The minimum system requirements your computer should meet to run our software are:

You can download Voipian for free from our website. Just click here to start the download and save the setup file on your computer.

To install the free Voipian software, just double click the setup file and you will be guided through the installation.

Once the installation file has been downloaded you can open the folder containing the file you downloaded. Double-click the installation file to start the installation process of the Vopian software on your computer.

You will be guided through the installation and all necessary steps will be explained. You will be able to adjust your microphone and speakers and test your internet connection during the installation to prepare Voipian for the best call quality on your computer.

The Voipian software will ask for a username and password the first time you launch it. You will be able to register a free Voipian name and password now.

Your Voipian username needs to have at least 5 characters and your password needs to have at least 6 characters.

If you wish to top up your credits through PayPal at a later date, please remember to enter the same e-mail address that is connected to your PayPal account when you sign up for a free Voipian name.

For a call to a regular phone just enter the desired number and click the “call” button or press "Enter".

For all other calls you will be asked to buy credits first. Please note that you always have to enter all telephone numbers in the international format (countrycode + areacode + subscribernumber) when you´re about to make a call, even if it's local!

When you start the Voipian client for the first time your contact list will be empty. To talk to your friends just add them to your contact list. There are several ways to call a contact:

• right-click the Voipian user name in your contact list and select “call”
• double-click the Voipian user name in your contact list
• select a Voipian user name and then click the “call” button.

If someone is calling you, you will hear the sound of a telephone ringing and the Voipian client will notify you in the lower right corner of your screen. Go to the Voipian client application (if not already visible) and select whether you would like to answer or reject the call in the incoming call tab.

As soon as you decide to answer the call a two-way voice conversation will begin and the duration of the call will be visible. Each party can end the call at any time by clicking the hang-up button.

We recommend the use of a headset with a built-in microphone. Headsets are available for purchase at most computer retailers and will improve the sound quality. Please note that voice quality is affected by the equipment on both sides of a conversation over Voipian! The best way to ensure high quality sound is to have a headset on both ends of a conversation.

If you don't have a headset, however, you can still improve the sound quality if you:

• use a headphone instead of your computer speakers
• move the microphone closer or further away from your mouth
• use an external microphone
• update your soundcard drivers

There are several ways to make calls with Voipian:

• enter the user name of another Voipian user and press the “Call”-Button
• double-click on a user name or phone number in the contact list
• call a number using the dial pad or by selecting a country and typing in the number

Remember to always dial the full international number (even if it’s local).
